- Wetland Delineation – Site investigation and report preparation to identify the presence and extent of wetlands by evaluating the vegetation, soils, and hydrology.
- Section 404 Permitting – Federal Clean Water Act regulations for impacting wetlands and other protected aquatic areas. GES can provide complete permit application services which include preliminary field investigations, delineations, application preparation and permit negotiation.
- Mitigation Site Development – Selecting and constructing a successful mitigation site is often the most critical step in the 404 process. GES has the experience and available site inventory to meet all you mitigation needs.
- Mitigation Construction – Understanding the complex functions and values required to construct a successful mitigation site is GES’s specialty. GES can provide complete construction services from design to low-impact construction to preparation of as-built planning documents.
- Mitigation Banking – Development of large mitigation areas in strategic watersheds in advance of their need is a growing and profitable mitigation tool. GES can provide complete planning, permitting, and construction services to ensure a successful bank project.
- Monitoring – Measuring mitigation success using performance measures is required in Section 404 Permits. GES has the experience necessary to ensure that your monitoring projects are completed efficiently and cost effectively.
Kevin has over 15 years experience with wetlands project work and their regulatory protections in the Midwest. He has experience obtaining Clean Water Act permits for projects large and small. He has performed hundreds of delineations, as well as designed, constructed, and monitored dozens of successful wetland mitigation projects.
Kevin is a Board Member At-Large of the North Central Chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientists and a registered Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS). Kevin is also a member of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ Wetland Monitoring Steering Committee.
